The Bishop Dr Karl Golser Foundation wishes to acknowledge highly distinguished clinician investigators or neuroscientists who dedicate their research to the field of atypical parkinsonian disorders including multiple system atrophy, dementia with Lewy bodies, progressive supranuclear palsy and corticobasal degeneration.

The inaugural Bishop Dr. Karl Golser Award will be assigned on June 9, 2018, on the basis of a landmark first author publication in 2016/2017 as well as international standing as evidenced by the CV. The selection of the awardee will be made by the scientific advisory board of the foundation and facilitated by an international expert panel. It is expected that the prize money (20.000 Euros) derived from donations of the entire southern tyrolean population will be used to support a scientific project. Intermediate and final reports to the foundation are obligatory. The awardee will receive the prize at the Bishop`s Palace (Brixen, Bressanone, Italy) in the presence of its President Josef Matzneller and Bishop Ivo Muser (Bozen-Brixen, Bolzano-Bressanone, Italy).

All applications must include a cover letter, PDF of the publication and an updated CV (NHS style). Applications need to be submitted to Prof. Gregor K. Wenning, President of the Bishop Dr. Karl Golser Foundation, via email ( by November 15, 2017. Applications will be accepted from all countries.
